2. What we collect
- Contribution data: the display name you choose (or none, if anonymous), optional public message, the country and number of pixels, and a timestamp.
- Payment data: handled directly by our payment processor (Stripe). We receive a confirmation and limited metadata, never your full card number.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser type) used for security and to operate the Service.
- Usage data: Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Web Analytics record which pages are viewed, roughly where visits come from and on what kind of device. Google Analytics uses cookies for this; Vercel Web Analytics does not.
3. Legal bases (Art. 6 GDPR)
We process your data to perform our contract with you (delivering your pixels and certificate), on the basis of your consent (e.g. displaying your chosen name publicly), and for our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service. Personalised advertising for visitors in the EEA and UK relies on the consent you give in Google's consent message (see section 10).
4. How we use it
To apply your pixels to the map, show your contribution on the public wall and activity feed, generate your certificate, process payment, prevent abuse, and meet legal and accounting obligations.
5. Sharing
We share data only with the providers who help us run the Service — our payment providers (Stripe for cards, NOWPayments for crypto), our hosting/database providers (e.g. Vercel, Supabase), and Google, which provides analytics and the display advertising described in section 10 — under data-processing agreements or their own published terms. We never sell your personal data.
6. International transfers
Some processors may store data outside the EEA. Where they do, transfers are protected by adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. Retention
Contribution records are kept for the life of the project and its archives (e.g. Hall of Fame). Payment and accounting records are kept as long as legally required. You may request deletion of your personal display name/message at any time.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any right, email hello@glowmyworld.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
9. Cookies
Essential cookies and local storage keep the Service running (such as remembering your currency preference). Google Analytics sets cookies to tell one visit from another, and Google's advertising cookies are explained in section 10. Vercel Web Analytics works without cookies.
10. Advertising (Google AdSense)
Alongside the brand sponsorships offered on our Advertise page, the site carries display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners rely on cookies to deliver those ads and gauge their reach, and your settings decide whether they are personalised based on your visits to this and other websites. In the EEA and the UK, personalised-advertising cookies wait for the consent you give in Google's own message, which you can withdraw or change at any time.
Google's advertisers have no say over the map, the leaderboard or anything written on this site. Country takeovers bought through our Advertise page are a separate, direct arrangement, and they are always labelled as sponsored.

11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy; the “last updated” date reflects the latest version.
